At eyworks, we continually invest in our platform to make running your nursery easier, more efficient, and more flexible.

Our development roadmap is guided by a combination of legislative changes, which we actively monitor, and feedback from our nursery partners, submitted through the Feature Suggestions section of the platform.

We invest in these improvements to save you time, enhance communication, and deliver more value for staff, parents, and the nursery as a whole.

In the sections below, we’ve provided an overview of the key updates we’ve delivered across eyworks over the previous academic year, as well as a look ahead at how we plan to continue investing in the platform to support nurseries every step of the way.

Platform-Wide Updates

While most of our developments are module-specific, we periodically introduce platform-wide enhancements that benefit the entire eyworks experience. These improvements are designed to streamline operations, improve security, and leverage new technology across all modules.

Key updates include:

  • Added the option to enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) during user login, providing an extra layer of security to protect accounts across the platform.
  • Launched the Aimey AI Tool to assist staff with spelling, grammar, and writing style across the platform, while also suggesting staff rostering and deployment based on parent drop-off and collection data.

Looking ahead: As we move into the new academic year, we’ll be expanding Aimey’s platform-wide capabilities to provide even more value for nurseries, while also exploring the option to allow nurseries to create bespoke user roles on the platform.

Module-Specific Updates

While platform-wide updates bring value across the board, much of our investment goes into enhancing individual software modules and how they integrate to provide a seamless experience. These improvements are designed to meet the unique needs of nurseries, staff, and parents. Below, you’ll find a summary of the key updates we’ve introduced for each module, along with a look ahead to what’s coming next.

eymanage

Over the past year, eymanage has been enhanced to make financial management and invoicing simpler, more flexible, and fully compliant with regulations. A major focus has been on adapting to DfE guideline changes announced in early 2025 and understanding the different methods nurseries use to calculate and charge for food, consumables, and additional activities. These enhancements ensure your invoicing and funding processes remain accurate while saving time.

Key updates include:

  • Updates to invoice layouts in line with DfE guidance.
  • Segmented invoice and funding settings for AYR and TTO, making invoicing quicker and more precise.
  • Automated consumable charging with easy opt-out and enhanced allocation rules, giving nurseries more control and flexibility (e.g. charging consumables to all funded children except those who are fully funded or on two-year-old disadvantaged funding).
  • Bank statement import launch and improvements, enabling nurseries to quickly import payments received with eymanage, automatically matching them to the correct child account based on payment reference.

Looking ahead: We’ll continue enhancing invoicing flexibility and refining consumable management, helping nurseries operate efficiently while staying fully compliant. We’re also reviewing options to provide a simplified, built-in card payment solution as an alternative to our existing integrations with Stripe, Opayo, and Worldpay, making it quicker for nurseries to set up and easier for parents to pay invoices on time.

eylog

Over the past year, eylog has focused on improving how learning journey and daily activity data is shared with parents, helping families engage more effectively with their child’s development. While the core platform remains largely unchanged, these enhancements strengthen the connection between nurseries, children, and parents.

Key updates include:

  • Improvements to how parents receive learning journey information via eyparent, making it easier to track progress and celebrate milestones.
  • Live integration with eypeople, using children registered in and out on the platform to show staff numbers required in each room, with insights from Aimey on parent drop-off and collection patterns to help optimise staff scheduling.

Looking ahead: We’re about to launch an easy way to record children who have been opted out of food charging that are bringing their own packed lunch, developing a new report view focused on statement assessments, designed to help nurseries quickly identify development gaps and provide targeted support for each child.

eyenquiries

Over the past year, eyenquiries has focused on improving the parent journey from enquiry to enrolment, ensuring nurseries capture the right data on registration forms and providing strong analytical reporting to make enquiry management more efficient.

Key updates include:

  • Enquiry invoicing for deposit and registration fees, helping nurseries manage payments upfront.
  • Card payment links on enquiry invoices for faster and easier payments.
  • Improvements to the analytics screen for more actionable insights.
  • New fields on registration forms, including updated funding code fields for under-2 funding and other key information.

Looking ahead: We’ll continue to enhance the parent journey, refine registration data capture, and expand reporting tools to support even more efficient enquiry management.

eypeople

Over the past year, eypeople has continued to establish itself as the leading Early Years-specific HR software, designed to make HR management simpler, more flexible, and accessible for nurseries and staff.

Key updates include:

  • eyemployee mobile app launched, allowing staff to self-serve and access rotas and annual leave bookings anywhere.
  • TOIL (Time Off In Lieu) management giving managers and staff more flexible ways to manage overtime hours.
  • Certificates linked to qualification and training records now visible on the training matrix for easier compliance tracking.
  • Adjustments to annual leave calculations to comply with new statutory calculation laws.

Looking ahead: We’ll continue enhancing HR management tools and mobile functionality, making it even easier for staff and managers to stay informed and maintain compliance.

eyrecruit

Over the past year, eyrecruit has been enhanced to give nurseries better tools to attract, manage, and hire the right staff more efficiently. Our focus has been on improving communication with candidates and providing clearer insights into recruitment performance.

Key updates include:

  • Recruitment analytics dashboard, giving nurseries better visibility of application pipelines and performance.
  • Event reminder emails for candidates to reduce missed interviews.
  • Flexibility to create filtered job boards (e.g. by role, nursery group, or location) for publishing on websites or social channels.
  • Improved nursery-to-candidate communication for a smoother recruitment experience.

Looking ahead: We’re considering external integration options for employee checks (such as DBS and Right to Work) and reviewing how Aimey could assist with candidate CV screening, as we continue exploring ways to make candidate management more efficient within eyrecruit.

eyengage

Over the past year, eyengage has received updates focused on improving parent engagement and ensuring content reaches the right people quickly. While changes have been incremental, they’ve enhanced the experience for both nurseries and parents.

Key updates include:

  • Increased the number of media files that can be shared per post, giving nurseries more flexibility in the content they share.
  • Improved the enrolment process for new parents and staff, ensuring they receive posts and updates faster.

Looking ahead: We’re exploring ways to allow content to be posted directly through the eylog application, further simplifying communication and engagement for nurseries.

eyparent

This past year has been a significant one for eyparent, with the launch of our redesigned parent app creating a more modern and intuitive experience for families. Alongside this, we’ve introduced new features to make communication and payments simpler, and to give parents a richer view of their child’s journey at nursery.

Key updates include:

  • A redesigned mobile app experience with improved navigation and usability.
  • Tax-Free Childcare (TFC) payment integration, making it easier for parents to pay invoices directly.
  • A new timeline view of each child’s time at nursery, offering a clearer overview of milestones and activity.
  • The launch of conversations as a quick message function for nurseries to send short, instant-style communications to parents, complementing the existing email-style messaging.

Looking ahead: We’ll continue enhancing eyparent to make communication and engagement even easier, with a focus on new tools that strengthen the partnership between nurseries and families.

eyemployee

This past year saw the launch of eyemployee, our dedicated employee app designed to give nursery staff easier access to their HR information and improve day-to-day communication. By making key data and processes available on the go, eyemployee helps reduce admin for managers and empowers staff with more self-service options.

Key updates include:

  • Access to personal rotas, ensuring staff can always see when they’re scheduled to work.
  • The ability to request annual leave directly through the app, streamlining approval workflows.
  • Messaging tools to communicate with managers and colleagues more easily.
  • Secure login linked to eypeople, so staff can view their HR data anytime, anywhere.

Looking ahead: We’ll continue to expand eyemployee’s functionality with new features that make it even easier for staff to manage their work life on the go, while giving managers stronger tools to support and engage their teams.

At eyworks, we remain committed to continuously investing in our software to support nurseries, staff, and parents.

The updates highlighted here are just some of the key improvements we’ve delivered over the past year, from platform-wide enhancements to module-specific developments, all designed to make day-to-day operations more efficient, communication clearer, and HR and learning management simpler.

We’ll keep listening to our nursery partners, monitoring legislation, and exploring innovative technologies like Aimey to ensure our platform evolves to meet the changing needs of the Early Years sector.
