- Enter child numbers and target ratios: Input the total number of children in each age group. If your setting chooses to operate above minimum legal cover, you can lower your target ratio (for example, setting 1:2 for babies), but the calculator caps your inputs at the statutory limit to prevent non-compliance.
- Account for graduate staff (Engalnd only): If a Level 6, Early Years Teacher (EYT), or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) educator directly leads a room for children aged three and over, log them in the available staff counter to apply the 1:13 ratio automatically.
